Im looking to upgrade the carburator at this time and im wondering if anyone has info on the best make to go with stock to my knowledge bore and stroke 1000cc ironhead.

    Welcome

Mikuni works really well and pretty much trouble free on the sporty. My weapon of choice for sure

I'm an S&S Shorty fan myself. Although I have put a Cv carb on an Ironhead and a few shovels and they worked perfect. A hell of a lot cheaper too.

    P.S. Mikuni sucks

I agree the CV is the best carb that ever came on a Harley with a few simple mods it can be a great carb
