How many working adults are in the U.S.A.?

The population of this country is 300 million.

    160 million are retired.

That leaves 140 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school.

Which leaves 55 million to do the work.

Of this there are 35 million employed by the federal government.

Leaving 15 million to do the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing Osama
    Bin-Laden.

Which leaves 12.2 million to do the work.

Take from that total the 10.8 million people who work for state and city
Governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given time there are 188,000 people in hospitals.

Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons.

That leaves just two people to do the work.

    You and me.

    And there you are,

    Sitting on your ***,

    At your computer, reading jokes.

    Nice. Real nice

I was actually looking for the true number of working adults when I came across this.
I think the # of working adults is about 150,000,000.
At least that's what the 2nd link I clicked on after this one said.

I was thinking of this before when I was doing the math on the debt. Cuz I divided the debt by the 311 million population. But you're right that not all of our population works. So the debt is borne by the workers only.

That is correct, factor in all the people who pay no taxes under the table and or criminal activities which cost everyone that does work. Has any one calculated the number of millions claimed by Gov't agencies as confiscated each year. I tried but not all are reported to the main stream media. j

I suppose we need to exclude government workers too. That's about 33% to 40% ain't it?

You sound like a capitalist purist. Ron Paul is your candidate then. At least with removing federal intervention in what he belives is state business.
