    rider to passenger intercom systems

    Hey all,

Getting ready for my annual Keys trip and am looking into getting an intercom system for the Ultra. My wife and I wear half-lids and I've started my research on-line. There's a lot to choose from...any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Roy

Hey Royd, if you get one aren't you going to have to listen to your wife?!? Don't do it!

If it were my first wife, there would be no intercom...I actually like to talk to my new bride

lol, I was thinking the same thing WP. Another thought is that if you go back to legal exhaust, you will just be able to talk.

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly

I never used one but it'd probably be cool on long trips.
I'd like to have an intercom system that'd let me talk to women in nearby cars. It'd have to broadcast on the FM frequency I'd suppose.

Here's an update on cabled intercom....the sound for talking is very good, but not so good for music (I don't really like listening to music on the bike anyway).

The main downside is it pulls on our helmets and pushed the ear pads into our ears and causes pressure points. May not sound like much, but on the 6 hour ride back from the keys last month, it was a real pain and distracting. I'm going to research the bluetooth option before our next long ride.

My wife and I have 3/4 helmets and I placed the Harley headset speakers in them. The sound quality is excellent and you don't even know they are in there. Since I purchased the 3/4 helmets I have only worn my 1/2 helmet one time in the last year. They may not have a Kool factor but I do not miss the wind noise one bit.

I did make a couple of mods to my helmet to make it cooler in the summer. The vents in the helmet weren't big enough so I drilled a couple of vent holes in the top that make a world of difference when it's a 100 in Georgia.

Being in S. FL, the heat is a factor for me too. I don't seem to have an issue with the wind noise...might be different if I experienced a ride without the noise. Might have to try a 3/4...

just a side note if you do any mods to the helmet "drilling holes " that helmet is junk from a safety view
and if you are going to wear a helmet it might as well offer some protection
Bucket list are for Sissie, men do it while they can enjoy it
