Hello All
My name is Jason, I am a new rider that just purchased my first bike, a 2003 100th anniversary 883 sportster. Upon browsing the internet I notice that almost every single 100th ann. has the original seat on it. Would I be taking away from the bike to change the seat?
Put a new seat on and keep the old one. It only takes a minute to change.
Did you buy it to ride or make money?
Some people own a cruising seat and a touring seat for their bikes and swap them around depending on what type of riding they are doing. I have four. LOL

Cool, Thanks for the feed back.
I bought it to ride, and am looking forward to getting out and enjoying the heck out of it.
My favorite seat now is a LePera that has good back support for long rides. When I was young I could ride all day on a gunfighter style seat no problem. But as i got older I started to get back aches. Also you will find that passengers don't like thin & skinny passenger pillions. So if you plan on bringing your lady on rides you will at least need a seat with a comfy passenger pillion.
