    Help! Electrical problem!!!

Washed the 2010 Ultra this morning and just went to take her for a spin and when I tried to start the bike, it turned over a couple of times and I heard a loud "pop" and all electrical went dead. I pulled the seat and checked all connections to and from the battery and all looks good. I keep her on a trickle charger, so the battery should be good.

After fiddling with the wires I tried turning on the bike and I get the oil light and the odometer flashes intermittently. Nothing with the horn either.

Thoughts? Did water get in somewhere and short it out?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer.

My bike burned out a sensor on a damp morning once. I took it in and had it fixed.

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly

I pulled all the fuses and checked them out...they look fine. I now have the Neutral light, but the odometer flashes on and off. When I turn the main switch to ignition, there is a clicking sound coming from the battery well. She's dead on her feet.

    Thankfully it's still under warranty...

You could use a hair dryer and try to dry everything but if it's that sensative to getting wet, you need it fixed. You should be able to ride in pouring rain if you want to.

When I pulled the cover off the fuse box, there was some water in there. Don't know how it got in there... The bike started this morning, but still clicked in the battery well before she cranked up. Is that the battery dying?

Your bike is kind of new for the battery to go bad.
If you ride it for a while it might charge up.

Did you wash your bike with a pressure washer?

I thought so too, and I've kept a trickle charger on it. And no, I used the hose....

"Kind of" new? 2010? My 2006 (bought Aug2005) has the original battery (31K miles) and it cranked up this morning (45 deg) like it was brand new. I've been trying to buy a new battery for three years but the damn thing won't let me. I'd say royd's battery isn't even broken in yet.

So here's what I think happened: I sprayed the bike with S100 cleaner. In the directions it said to rinse it off with a lot of water pressure. I didn't use a nozzle, but put my thumb over the end of the hose and blasted the bike. When I went to start it after drying it off, the fuses shorted out and drained the battery. It dried overnight, I put the trickle charger on it and it's starting and running like nothing happened.

My concern is even with water pressure, it shouldn't have gotten to the fuses. Anyone have this problem before?
