    Shock advice needed please

I really need to get some Progressive rear suspension for my 95 Sportster but I'm not sure which ones to get. I need 13" shocks and I ride 2 up and loaded quite a bit. My wife, me and the luggage weigh in at about 380lb. Does anyone have any idea which ones to go for - the 412's, 418's or 440's?
Ideally the answer would be "the cheapest ones" but I really need the ones that are properly up to the job: some of the roads around here are completely f***ed and my back is getting bad with the stock suspension.
Also, would people recommend getting 12.5" shocks to lower the rear end a bit?

By the way, I went to court last month over liability for the accident that wrote off my beloved Fatboy (Waaaaahaaaa! The heartache just wont go away). I won hands down! The other guy as much as admitted he was a fucking idiot and the judge agreed with him. So now I'm expecting a couple of grand extra in my sweaty, grimy palm. That's going to get new suspension, some ape hangers and a few other bits. Just bought 2 new whitewall tyres for the winter too, so the old girl's going to get a great big overhaul - can't wait!

I put Progressive shocks on my 04 Sporty, but I can't remember which number they were. It made a world of difference in the way the bike handled and stopped. My wife and I without the luggage had the 380 covered.

One thing I noticed after putting the Progressives on was the way the front end reacted during braking. Prior to putting the Progressives on the bike would have a large bit of front end dip when braking and I suspect this was caused by the rear end being lower when riding 2 up. With the Progressives the bike stayed level and thus the front end didn't have so much travel. For this reason I would not lower the rear without lowering the front.

Fitted the front and rear suspension and it's much better. Perhaps the solo ride is still a little bit stiff but I need some more padding in my seat anyway. 2 up it's beautiful and just glides over everything that these screwed up Sussex roads can throw at you. The handling is completely different: no wallowing in the corners, no bouncing about all over the bloody place and no bottoming out. I got the 440s all in black but with chrome springs. Look great! Can't wait to get the arse hammock re-padded and the apes on. I've ordered 16" with 8" pullback and I'm bound to have got them too bleedin' high. Never mind the seller will change them if necessary.
    Q. Will the old stock risers off of my 04 fatboy fit on a 95 Sporty? They look like they should and I shall try it over the hols, but I really hope so or else I've gotta get new ones of them too. Hard poly bushes too I suppose. This aint cheap is it?

Port and Stilton in front of the fire tonight - very nice too!
    Happy hols everyone XX
