    Newb From Ia Donnie

Thanks to all who has wecomed me.Anyone out their with a 1991 Heritage evo, that has done some motor up greads.Mine is stock except for the carb "muki" I would like to do give it some more hp,but not sure witch way to go.I have read alot about the Andrews EV27,but not sure if that would be a good fit fo my scoot.Someone eles said something about the EV46 also.I do most of my riding on the high-ways,think it's safer that way,and can open it up.Just seem's that everybody I talk to has a differant ideal.Would like to do in stages,so I don't have to do all at once, but want to make sure whatever I do,will work with latter mods.Again thanks to all that reply.Ride Safe

Have you opened up the breathing a bit yet with a low restriction air cleaner and maybe some exhaust pipes?

There's no substitute for cubic inches so save up for some bigger pistons and jugs. You won't have to split the cases to stroke it. You'll notice a big change with this. Do your cams when you do this.

Yes all you need is a credit card.

I'm not sure with the 80 inch Evo motor. I think they end up at 96ci but that is with a flywheel too. Without the stroker flywheel i think you get to 88ci.

I'd start by talking to your local dealer or indy shop and see if the MoCo kits are still available and what just a top end piston and jug change gets you in ci. Dealers usually run Spring specials on these upgrades. Aftermarket companies also have good kits. Like the S&S Sidewinder series. Check these out. Some of these are stroker kits and will involve stroker flywheels as well as bigger pistons and jugs. Some machining of the crankcase may be required to fit the wider jug.

When HD recently went from the 88inch motor to the 96 inch motor they essentially swapped in a stroked flywheel. My 95ci motor has the old 88ci flywheel.

    Welcome to HCG

Most dealers and indys have big bore kits with parts that work well together.

My personal opinion is to go after what Harley's do best. Low end torque.

You might join your local bikers rights group like ABATE and get some references to local mechanics while you are making riding friends.

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly
