    Blown Drive belt

I don't know if anybody recalls, but a few years ago I blew a drive belt and posted the work I did...Well I am going to do some major motor work....because I like HP.
I take it out for a last ride today before I tear it down...and guess what? I pop another drive belt!!!!! fuck me...there goes my head port money. This belt lasted 30,000 miles...not that long from what I have read, my last one sucked up a rock and broke.
I guess I will post picks of the work I will be doing

I went with a Gates belt this time
So between this and the motor work I have a few hours in front of me.

I know my 1200 Roadster wasn't a big horsepower bike, but when I traded it in it had 88k on it and the belt showed no signs of wear. I hope my Ultra does the same.

As you can see this is not a stock belt, it is a Dayco Rear Drive Belt, called a panther, it has grooves in the kogs to quiet the running
    That part worked well

Kinda funky the way it broke, most I have seen break ar very clean, this one almost looks rotten.

I don't know shit about belts but that thing looks worn to me.

Maybe you push it too hard?

I'm sure there are others with more experience than me that will give more input

I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly

I still think I should of got more than 30,000 out of it.
Thing looks like it is dry rot

Kind of hard to tell by the picture but looks like the inside might be a bit funny

Double check the alignment and the pullys before installing a new one to be sure

most of the belts that I have seen, including this one, break like that because they wore to lose.
Bucket list are for Sissie, men do it while they can enjoy it
