where can a guy buy a 49mm wide glide fork assembly for a 1999 dyna fxds.

dunno about an "assembly", but the aftermarket does sell enough parts where you could piece one together. try looking in the usual places- drag spec, custom chrome, dennis kirk, etc...

what is your opinion on milwaukee twins parts.they have a nice set of inverted forks i just dont know.

never used much of their stuff. general rule is you get what you pay for. on the other side, if you buy just to get the name, you often pay too much. somewhere in the middle lies the truth.
discounted off brand parts aren't always bad, but the expected flaws can usually lie in the fit and finish departments. you may have to whittle on things a bit (depends on what your personal idea of degree of fitment is) and the chrome might have a dull spot, but unless you are planning for a show bike it will likely do just fine for you.
i have used other discounted parts and had good luck. the only areas where i do caution price shopping are brakes, rims and suspension. since forks fall in there, just do some research to be sure that they have a good safety record. i don't know if you remeber, but back a few years ago big bear choppers had a recall on their frames- the neck gussets were cracking. big name, big problem.
