Saturday riding the bike on the Interstate at about 75 started hearing a tapping noise that sounded like a lifter collapsed. Did this for about a mile and then quiet again. I couldn't tell where exactly the noise was coming from at road speed by leaning over and it went away before I could find a spot to pull over. I pulled the clutch in and revved the engine and it was definitely coming from the engine. The oil pressure was good and after that I rode another 50 miles with no problems. Got any ideas?
My first thought was exhaust. But I don't know about 75 mph
I'm used to hearing tapping when I first start the bike.
Then it goes away when the bike warms up.
I almost cut my hair, it happened just the other day.
It was gettin' kinda long, I could've said it was in my way.
But I didn't and I wonder why, I feel like letting my freak flag fly
I'm about 400 miles away from doing the 35k oil change, so I may just go ahead and do it today and make sure I don't have any metal coming out.
35K between oil changes might be the problem. lol

"It's O.K. to be freaked out when it's over. But if you weren't diggin it at least a little bit when it was going down then you're in the wrong fucking place."
Noise hasn't come back again and I have ridden a couple hundred miles this week. Oil was nice and clean with no obvious metal so I guess there's no cause for alarm yet.
