    Good idea!!!

Hey Wreck, are you saying that I can use my present Road King detatchable windshield mount hardware on an old batwing fairing with no problems? Does the mounts really match up or will I need to modify the bracketing?

I found a good batwing fairing, and just need to know the above.

tony that is correct use your hardware from your stock windshield, and you will have to get 4 small L brackets from a hardwear store, about 2inch each side of the bracket then mount your hardware minius the windshield to the bike then place the bat winf fairing up aganst it , then while some one holds it in place take the L brackets AND PLACE THEM WEAR IT WILL FASTEN .. use 1/4 x20 bolts and if you have the space i recomend useing rubber washer up aganist the fairing , thats about all you have to do , if you have any problems i will take a picture of mine for you ..but it is not that hard .....

Awesome, I can pick up a brand new, old style batwing fairing for less than 100 bucks. 'I wanted something more than a standard windshield, and the batwing with a quick disconnect would be fantastic.

    Thanks for the info.

I added an FM/XM Satellite radio to a Road King Police.

The amplified "Rumble Road" speakers came from MH Instruments:

The XM Satellite Radio is a Roady2:

The FM and power for the Roady2 come from the PAS option:

Sounds absolutely great -- even at highway speed.

My installation is only slightly different from the one shown. I have the triple windshield bags and the speakers nestle right below the bags. It looks great. Most people have to look twice to see where to music is coming from. It also works great with an iPod or Walkman style device.

Here is my radio installation. The XM Radio sits on the bracket on the left side of the handlebars.

Re: fairing for road king custom

Hey Wrecker - I'm looking for some info from this really old post. I want to put a fairing on my 2002 fatboy, which has the roadking headlight and running lights. I held up a couple fairings (one older and one from a newer wrecked ultra) and they would not slide behind the running lights at all. i don't know if that is because the spot lamps set even/just behind the headlight, or if relocating the turn signals below the spot lamps is necessary, or both or more than that. Either way, if you have the old pictures and some more info, i'd appreciate any insight.

    thanks
