I've got a 2000 FXST and want to change the rear shocks out to Progressive 422 with the remote adjuster, they come in standard springs or heavy duty springs. Has anyone here had any experience with either one of these and did it improve ride over stock shocks. I've read the heavy duty ones are pretty harsh but I've read the standard springs are harsh too so I need some feedback if anyone knows. Don't really want to go to air ride system, too much could go wrong in the wrong place. Thanks for anything you all come up with.
Ain't no time like a good time so cruise on!
I have a different model on a 2005 Road King. I opted for the heavy duty version - consider this carefully. The heavy duty are great when riding two up and loaded for a road trip. Riding solo they are ok, but I think the standard version would be better.
I swapped the stock air over oil stocks out and I am happy with the progressive shocks
