What in heck is an Al Pastor? LOL It's colorful for sure.

So I started reading a book on the Cannonball Sea to Shining Sea cross country race. It's by Brock Yates the guy that organized it. His name is familiar to motorheads cuz he wrote for and edited Car and Driver magazine and did TV reporting for NASCAR. I didn't realize he was the guy that organized the Cannonball until I started reading up on it.

That I seasoned pork layered with pineapple and onions I believe. There's probably lots of tumeric which makes it bright. Then they cook it on a rotisserie and slice off the outside as it becomes charred.
It's greasy as hell but damn it's good.

Isn't that cannonball run like deathrace 2000 or Smokey and the bandit? 🏁

    Sounds tasty.

The race is like the movies Cannonball Run with Burt Reynolds. The movies were based on the Cannonball which was an illegal race across the country.

The race was named in honor of George ("Cannon Ball") Baker who was a dirt track motorcycle racer in the early 1900's. I think he raced Indian motorcycles. But later on he started doing what they call point to point rides. Like Chicago to Denver or east coast to west coast. This was before we had a highway system and a lot of roadways were still dirt. He went cross country in a record 54 hours in 1933. The first time he did it in 1915 it took him 11 days.

Wish we still had a way to do the kind of runs the did 80 or 90 years ago. I would be all in.

On another note I have been told I will be getting written offers by Monday end of day from 2 companies I have done some pre-negotiating with, so we will see.
I haven't made a wide search, just contacted a few that contacted me before and felt I might like working for them. So we will see.

Good news! Job hunting is like fishing. You cast a line out and wait for a bite.

Yikes. Someone called the cops cuz they saw a black bear up my street. He's been seen on the other side of town near the shopping area before the winter. Hope my french doors can hold a black bear.

Must be awake from hibernating and hungry.

Where I used to live it wasn't that unusual to see a black bear around town and the occasional moose. In general I was more concerned with moose than bear.
